Role: The Heart / Soul of the Tribe

Commitment: 6 Hours / Day (Flexible; includes evenings and weekends for arrivals/events).

The Mission: You are the founding guardian of the “Human Experience” at Agape Crete. This is a pivotal, high-independence building role. Your mission is to work alongside the Founders and the COO to architect the social fabric of Agape from the ground up. You are someone who is obsessed with the “Why” of belonging—making sure every person who steps onto our land feels safe, accepted, seen, heard, and understood. You don’t just host guests; you help build a tribe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Founding Tribal Alchemy: We do not have an established community life yet. You are the primary builder of our social foundation. You are constantly thinking about how to bring the community closer and how to turn a group of individuals into a cohesive tribe.
  • The Art of Ritual: You help define and pilot the rituals that give Agape its soul. You understand that rituals are the glue of a community. Examples include:
    • Designing traditions for arrival and departure that make people feel “Home.”
    • Creating communal meal rhythms and evening gatherings.
    • Designing celebrations for land milestones (like the end of the olive oil harvest).
    • Curating morning movement or meditation spaces that ground the tribe.
  • Proactive Hospitality: You own the “First Impression.” You lead Culture Walks, conduct “White Glove” audits of accommodations, and act as a proactive concierge. You ensure that the physical environment and the emotional environment are always in harmony.
  • Aesthetic & Emotional Vigilance: You have a “sees something, does something” approach. If a candle needs lighting, a room feels cold, or a resident looks disconnected, you act immediately. You don’t wait for instructions; you are the primary steward of the “Agape Vibe.”
  • Conceptualizing the Student Journey: You will work with the Operations Manager to design the cultural and social framework for future students, ensuring that their educational stay is wrapped in a deep sense of belonging.
  • Safety & Wellness: You monitor the “Community Thermometer.” You are skilled in minor social de-escalation and emotional support, ensuring that even in the “building phase,” the tribe remains a sanctuary of peace.

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • The Student of Belonging: You are passionate about human psychology and the mechanics of “Tribalism.” You likely spend your free time reading books on community building or attending webinars/workshops. You understand what makes people feel they truly belong.
  • High-Level Independence: While you will partner closely with the COO, you are a self-starter. You bring your own ideas, research, and frameworks to the table. You don’t want to be told how to do it; you want to collaborate on the vision and then own the execution.
  • Radical Empathy & EQ: You have an extraordinary ability to read people. You can hear what isn’t being said and you know how to make people feel “held” without being overbearing.
  • Professional Background: You have experience in community management, guest relations, or high-touch hospitality where “The Human Experience” was the priority.
  • The Step-Up Spirit: You lead by example. When there are no social events, you are a communal leader who steps up to support the land—whether that’s helping with a harvest or assisting in site logistics.

Living in Community (Residency)

  • Physical Presence: This is a full-time residential role. You are required to live on-site at Agape Crete. You are the “Heart” of the project; your presence is what makes the land feel like a home.
  • Beyond the 6th Hour: While your professional shift is 6 hours, your life at Agape is 24/7. You are an active neighbor who participates in community life, naturally modeling the “Agape Way” for others.
  • Languages: Fluent English is required. You must be able to communicate with warmth, nuance, and professional clarity.

Technical Stack

  • Task Management: Proficiency in Trello for tracking arrivals and community milestones.
  • Administration: Proficiency in Google Workspace for managing guest data and schedules.
  • Communication: Ability to provide the Founders with clear, regular updates on the “community temperature.”
